Cloud storage market became an ever buzzing hive where it is difficult to obtain a stable position. This is why all the competing companies struggle to regularly improve their services and stay up to date with their customers’ needs.
Box is one of the companies that this year made some significant steps towards improving their position in the market. Besides undertaking new ventures, Box regularly adds new features to their service. Recently they announced a set of updates for iOS and Android and last week they introduced a new feature that is supposed to facilitate file sharing.
Customized Links Improve File Sharing
The new feature allows users to customize a link name to make the file content more transparent. The “Sharing” section now contains the option to “Customize Link” among the other shared link settings. The employees can add their company’s domain name right into the link and choose a catchy name so it would be easier for people to recognize and remember it. This is supposed to contribute to a better organization within the company and improve file management and control.
Security settings remain the same
As for security settings, they remain the same and the employees are offered different options to make sure the link is secure. They can choose to leave the link open to everyone, only to the persons with their company’s domain or only to collaborators within this specific folder. Other Box file sharing security options include setting download permission, viewing download or stats.
Leader in Corporate Collaboration
Box is often praised for the abundance of features it offers for corporate collaboration. Standard collaboration features in Box include creating workspaces where employees can edit documents, add comments or conduct discussions around certain folders. The option to customize links is a great asset to this list.
Box is currently considered one of the leaders in enterprise cloud storage services with over 11 million users and 120,000 businesses.
